Mr. Schultz was born in Waldwick, N.J. He retired from the Naval Air Logistics Command, Patuxent River, Md., and was a former director of engineering for the Naval Air Systems Command, Norfolk Naval Air Station. He served as a major in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and was a graduate of Manhattan College, New York City, and New York University. He served on the board of directors of the Ryan Club and was a past president of Norfolk Kiwanis Pioneers and Parents Organization of Southside Virginia Training Center for the Mentally Retarded at Petersburg. Survivors include his wife, Mary Phillips Schultz; four daughters, Suzanne S. Dukes of Chesapeake, Carolyn S. Fritsch of Ontario, Canada, Rosemary C. Schultz, Brooklyn Heights, N.Y., and Donna Maria Schultz of Petersburg; two sons, George Schultz Jr. of Olaton, Ky., and Edward A. Schultz of Fargo, N.D.; a sister, Marie A. McMurrer of Fern Park, Fla.; and 14 grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church by the Rev. Julian Goodman. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. A Christian wake service will be at 7 p.m. Friday in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk.
