NORFOLK - Cathy Schwarz-Fontanilla, wife of the late Earl "Jack" Fontanilla, died 
Nov. 9, 2009, after a long illness. She was 63 years old.

Cathy graduated from James Madison University in 1968. She was a retired school 
teacher, having taught in Norfolk elementary schools for 31 years.

She was predeceased by her parents, Helen Bryan and Ralph Schwarz; her stepmother, 
Mildred Schwarz; and her brother, Ralph B. Schwarz. Cathy is survived by her 
brother, Jerry Schwarz and wife Jan; her nephews, Stephen and Michael Schwarz; a 
sister, Pamela League; and nephews, Scott and Brad Truax.

Cathy was a faithful member of the Basilica of St. Mary of the Immaculate 
Conception. Cathy served as a lector and sang with the George Jones Memorial Choir 
and Mass Choir.

A memorial service will be held at Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. in St. Mary of the Immaculate 
Conception, Holt Street, Norfolk.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Basilica of St. Mary of the
