Norfolk Journal and Guide, Oct 17,1942
Funeral services for Joseph Scott, 53, who died at his home, 1410 45th street, 
October 8, were held at the First Baptist Church in Lambert’s Point on October 
11.  The Rev. J. J. Freeman officiated.  Mr. Scott was a native of Blackstone, 
VA, and had lived here 35 years.  He is survived by a widow, Mrs. Lula Scott.  
Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.  Hale Funeral Home was in charge.
