DEATH OF A SISTER OF CHARITY

In the death notices of yesterday's VIRGINIAN was the announcement of the
death of Sister Raphael Scott, a native of Petersville, Maryland, who died at the
hospital of St. Vincent de Paul Thursday morning, after a prolonged illness of 
consumption. She came to this city some months ago for the benefit of her health, 
and it was hoped that it would be re­stored; but the insatiate disease had
taken too great a hold, and death claimed its victim. The deceased was much 
beloved, not only by those of her sacred order, but by all who became ac­quainted 
with her. Her funeral will take place this morning at nine o’clock from
St. Mary's church.
