Norfolk Journal and Guide, Mar 7,1970
Norfolk - Miss Valarie Deneise Scruggs of 4319 Colley avenue, who recently died 
in a local hospital after a short illness, received last rites in Kingdom Hall, 
27th street, March 3.  Elder Brinkley officiated.

A native of Norfolk, she was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George A. Scruggs.

Surviving, besides her parents, are a brother, George A. Scruggs and a sister, 
Lisa Scruggs, both of Norfolk.

Interment was in Calvary Cemetery with Hale Funeral Home in charge.
