James Poindexter Scurlock

The Rev. J. A. Young officiated at the funeral of James P. Scurlock, Monday 
afternoon at Hale’s Chapel. Mr. Scurlock passed away at his home at 909 
Chicazola St., Saturday of last week after a lengthy illness.

The deceased was a native of Pittsboro, NC, and had lived in Norfolk only seven 
years. He is survived by a brother, Willie P. Scurlock, and a sister, Miss 
Mildred Scurlock, besides many friends and distant relatives. Burial was in 
Calvary Cemetery.
