Virginian Pilot December 22, 1994

Mary Elizabeth Bowman Searcy, 68, of the 800 block of E. Virginia Beach Blvd., a 
retired social worker, died Dec. 21, 1994, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Searcy was born in Murphy, N.C., and was retired from the State of North 
Carolina.
Survivors include a son, Paul Armstead Searcy III of Norfolk, and numerous 
nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother, June Bowman, her father, 
Troy Bowman Sr., and a brother, Troy Bowman Jr.
A funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday in New Calvary Baptist Church 
by the Rev. Dr. Gilbert G. Campbell. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. 
Metropolitan Funeral Service is handling arrangements. The body will be placed 
in the church at 10 a.m. Friday. Family and friends will assemble at 1352 Maltby 
Ave., at 10 a.m. for the funeral processional to the church.
