The Virginian Pilot June 1,1976
Norfolk - Rufus Sears of 1350 W. 42nd St., a native of Norfolk, died Sunday in a 
hospital.

He was an apartment superintendent in New York City for 30 years and retired.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, Lamberts Point.

Survivors include four sisters, Mrs. Vinnie C. Burrell, Mrs. Evelyn Jennings, 
Mrs. Clarice C. Branch, and Mrs. Alice Johnson of Norfolk; and nieces and 
nephews.

A funeral service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in First Baptist Church, 
Lamberts Point, by the Rev. M. L. Williams. Burial will be in the Family Plot of 
Calvary Cemetery with Hale Funeral Home in charge.
