Norfolk Virginian Pilot December 4, 1942

Joseph Peter Seelinger, aged 59, husband of Mrs. Josephine Hatton Seelinger and 
son of the late Joseph and Mrs. Mary Hill Seelinger, a native of Richmond and a 
resident of Norfolk for the past 55 years, died at the residence, 517 Raleigh 
Avenue, yesterday morning at 3:35 o'clock.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Joseph E. Shackelford, of 
Silver Spring, Md.; two sons, John F. Seelinger, of Norfolk and Harry Oliver 
Seelinger, of Baltimore, Md.; four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. C.C. Dixon, 
of Arlington and Mrs. Julia Aydelotte, of Wilmington, Del.; one brother, Sherman 
E. Seelinger, of Norfolk and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the chapel of the H.D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments, 1501 Colonial Avenue, Saturday morning at 10 o'clock. Interment will 
be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

JOSEPH PETER SEELINGER —- Funeral services for Mr. Seelinger, who died Thursday 
morning at the residence, 517 Raleigh avenue, were held at 10 o’clock yesterday 
morn­ing at the chapel of the H. D. Oli­ver Funeral Apartments, 1501 Co­lonial 
avenue, with the Rev. Fran­cis Klemmer, of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 
officiating. In­terment was in St. Mary’s Ceme­tery.
Services at the grave were con­ducted by the Rev. Paul V. Heller. The pallbearers 
were George Stan­field, T. J. Curran, Dave Lambert, James E. Prince, Lee F. 
Lawler, W. H. Haynes, Judge W. H. De­vaney and Charles B. Carroll.
