He was a resident of Marion Manor and formerly resided at Vivian Street, Norfolk. Mr. Selig was a native of Baltimore, Md. He was a World War II veteran and he retired from the U.S. Navy as a senior chief. Following his military career, Mr. Selig retired from the Naval Air Rework Facility, NORVA, as an electronics engineer. He was a member of Fleet Reserve Association No. 60 and a member and usher of Christ the King Catholic Church for many years. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Pauline Selig; two daughters, Barbara S. Nannery of Tappahannock, Va., and Theresa L. Selig-Berens of Virginia Beach; three sons, John C. Selig, George B. Selig, both of Virginia Beach, and William P. Selig of Norfolk; a sister, Delores Vieweg of Baltimore; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated at 7 p.m. Sunday at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1803 Columbia Ave., Norfolk, VA 23509 with Father Brian Rafferty, celebrant. The family received friends at the church an hour prior to the service. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. today at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Capital Improvements Fund of Christ the King Catholic Church.
