NORFOLK — Mrs. Verna Kochera Semuta, 87, of 2443 Jasper Court, the wife of Andrew 
Semuta and a native of Eckley, Pa., died Tuesday in a Portsmouth hospital.

She lived here 28 years and was a mem­ber of St. Pius Catholic Church and St. Pius 
X Women’s Club, Sokol Lodge 12, and Saratoga Garden Club.

Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Marilyn Andrea Melchor and Miss 
Marcelline Ann Semuta of Norfolk; a sis­ter, Helen K. Kichla, of Hazelton, Pa.; a 
brother, John Kochera of Arlington; and a granddaughter.

A prayer service will be held tonight at 7 in Smith & Williams Funeral Home. A 
fu­neral service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in St Pius Catholic Church by the

Rev. Fr. Francis Toner. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The family will be 
at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 8. Me­morial donations may be made to St. 
Mary’s Infant Home, Norfolk.
