Born in Edenton, N.C., she was the widow of William Sessoms Jr. A member of Greater Metropolitan A.M.E.Z., she was president of the Willing Workers, a member of Stewardess Board No. 1 and Usher Board I. She was also a missionary, deaconess, a class leader, head of the kitchen committee and Athenian Class. Survivors include two sisters, Arnetha Wills of Hertford, N.C., Margaret Sinceno of Norfolk; a brother, Charles Stallings of New York City; and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Greater Metropolitan A.M.E.Z. by the Rev. G. Bernard Crawford. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . The body will be placed in state at 9:30 a.m. Monday. Hale Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
