Seymour, 81, died today at 4 p.m. at his home in Machipongo after a long illness. A native of Norfolk, he was a merchant there and also at one time was member of the Norfolk Police Division. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gertrude Bradford Seymour of Machipongo. He was a member of the Park Avenue Baptist Church, Norfolk. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. at his home by the Rev. Charles J. Bright, pastor of the Johnson Town Methodist Church. The body will be brought to Norfolk for burial at 2 p.m. Saturday in Elmwood Cemetery. ********************************************************************** F. D. SEYMOUR DIES ON EASTERN SHORE, FORMER POLICEMAN Forest D. Seymour, 81, former member of the Norfolk Police Division and husband of Mrs. Gertrude Bradford Seymour, died Thursday at his home in Machipongo. A native of Jamestown, N.Y. he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Seymour. He came to Norfolk at an early age and while he was still a young man joined the Police Division. He was a Mason and had been a member of Park Avenue Baptist Church. About 11 years ago Mr. Seymour retired as a policeman, bought his home in Machipongo, and started operating a service station there. Ill health had made him inactive for the past three years. He had no immediate survivors except his wife. Funeral services will be conducted today at 10 a.m. at his home by the Rev. Charles J. Bright, pastor of the Johnson Town Methodist Church.
