J. Green Shackelford, late rector of St. John’s Episcopal church, Houston, VA, who died in that town on Thursday afternoon, after an illness of ten days,were carried to Norfolk Friday night for interment. The body, which was accompanied by members of deceased’s family and vestrymen of his late church, was conveyed to St. Luke’s Protestant Episcopal church, from which it was taken at 10:30 a.m. Saturday to Elmwood Cemetery for interment. The services were conducted by Bishop Randolph, assisted by Rev. F. Bouldin, of St. Luke’s, and Rev. Robert Gatewood, of St. Paul’s church, Berkley. The pall-bearers were Rev. B. D. Tucker, Rev. C. E. Woodson, and Rev. John H. Dickinson, of Norfolk., Rev. Mr. Thompson, Rev. Z. S. Farland, and Rev. Mr. Copeland, of Portsmouth. Norfolk was selected as the burying place of the late minister by the wish of his widow, who will make that city her home.
