CHESAPEAKE — Florence Mirabella Shaffer, 81, of the 900 block of George Washington 
Highway, a retired secretary, died March 6,1990, in a Portsmouth hospital.
Mrs. Shaffer, a native of New York, was the widow of Claude D. Shaffer. She had 
retired from Norfolk Social Services.
Mrs. Shaffer is survived by a niece, Gloria M. Creef of Virginia Beach.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday in Sacred Heart 
Catholic Church by the Rev. John J. Dorgan. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. 
A wake will be held at 6:30 p.m. today in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk. 
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
