Norfolk Ledger Dispatch March 3, 1936

Mrs. Elizabeth Shalhoup, 56, wife of Anthony Shalhoup, a native of Syria and for 
the past 25 years a resident of Norfolk, died yesterday evening at 8:30 o'clock 
at the residence, 1072 West 41st Street.
Besides her husband, she is survived by six daughters, Mrs. John Asea, of 
Paterson, N.J., Mrs. Amelia Sheaha, of Pottstown, Pa., Mrs. A.G. Brown, of Long 
Beach, Cal., Mrs. M.H. Harford, Mrs. John King and Mrs. Wayne Larribee, of 
Norfolk; four sons, Joseph Shalhoup, of Paterson, N.J., Michael, Leo, and John 
Shalhoup, of Norfolk; 19 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Mary Nuttley, of Elk 
City, Okla. and a brother, Bashara Hellel, of Fall River, Mass.
Funeral services will be at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church Thursday morning, 
at 10 o'clock. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Mrs. Elizabeth Shalhoup — Funeral services for Mrs. Shalhoup, wife of Anthony 
Shalhoup, whose death occurred Monday night at the residence, 1072 West Forty-
first street, will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church this morning at 
10 o’clock. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
