Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Saturday, July 1, 1995 
Martha L. Shambry, 88, of the 1300 block of W. 42nd St., a homemaker, died June
26, 1995, in her residence.

Mrs. Shambry was born in Hertford, N.C., and was the widow of Thomas Shambry.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Lamberts Point, the Senior Choir,
Missionary Board and Park Place Senior Citizens Club. She was the daughter of
the late Maggie L. and Jerry Long.

Survivors include William Dick Price of Virginia Beach, who was like a son, and
Pearl Black Oliver of Norfolk, who was like a daughter; and a host of other
nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Monday in First Baptist Church Lamberts
Point by the Rev. Edward Shambry. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . The body
will be placed in church at 10 a.m. Monday. A wake will be held Sunday from 6 to
7 p.m. at Hale Funeral Home. The family will assemble at her residence for the
procession to the church.
