Virginian-Pilot, October 26, 1962
NORFOLK - Frank Shames, 82, widower of Mrs. Rebecca Pearl Shames and son of 
Joseph and Mrs. Ethel Pearl Shames, died Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in his home, 
808 Brandon Ave.
Mr. Shames, a retired grocer, lived in Norfolk 53 years. He was a member of 
B'Nai Israel Synagogue. 
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Anne Klein of Norfolk and Mrs. Simi Stein of 
Newport News; a sister, Mrs. Freyde Glaver of Norfolk; a grandchild and two 
great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held in H. D. Oliver Funeral Apts today at 11 a.m. by 
Rabbi Israel Bornstein of B'Nai Israel Synagogue. Burial will be in B'Nai 
Israel Cemetery.
