Virginian-Pilot, July 12, 1961
NORFOLK - Mrs. Rebecca Pearl Shames, 75, wife of Frank Shames and daughter of 
Nachman and Rebecca Pearl, died Tuesday at 12:55 p.m. in a Norfolk hospital.
She lived here 50 years, lately at 808 Brandon Ave., and was a member of the 
Ladies Hebrew Society, B'Nai Israel Sisterhood and B'Nai Israel Synagogue.
Besides her widower she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Alexander(Alex) 
Klein of Norfolk and Mrs. Max Stein of Newport News; a sister, Mrs. Dora 
Fleischer of Brooklyn, NY; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted in H. D Oliver Funeral Apts today at noon 
by Rabbi Israel Bornstein of B'Nai Israel Synagogue with burial in B'Nai Israel 
Cemetery.
