NORFOLK - Mrs. Madeline Bannon Shanks, 60, of 9109 Poppy Court, died Friday in a 
hospital.

A native of Norfolk, she was the wife of Warren Maurice Shanks and a daughter of 
Francis Patrick and Mrs. Lane Manning Bannon.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars 
Auxiliary Post 3160.

Besides her husband, surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Walker and Mrs. 
Gertrude Stephenson of Norfolk, and two brothers, Martin I. Bannon and Francis P. 
Bannon of Norfolk.

A rosary will be said in H. D Oliver Funeral Apartments Sunday at 7:30 p.m. A 
requiem mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 am in Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

Burial will be in Saint Mary's Cemetery.

The family will be at 9308 Chesapeake St.
