Norfolk Ledger Dispatch February 4, 1939.

Mrs. Mary C. Shanly, widow of Edward Shanly, a native of Norfolk and a resident 
of New York City for the past 50 years, died at 6:40 a.m. today at New York.
She is survived by a niece, Miss Mary C. Hannan, of Norfolk; three nephews, 
Michael C. Hannan, of Youngstown, Ohio; J.T. Hannan, of Norfolk and W.M. Hannan, 
Jr., of New York.
The body will be taken from the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, No. 1501 
Colonial Avenue, Norfolk, to St. Mary's Catholic Church, for services Monday 
morning at 11 o'clock. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Mrs. Shanly was a sister of the late William M. Hannan.
