NORFOLK - Mrs. Alice O'Connor Shannon, 92, of 1146 Jamestown Crescent, widow of 
Thomas J. Shannon and a daughter of Martin J. and Mrs. Mary Alice O’Connor, died 
Wednesday at 11:20 a.m. in a hospital.

A native of Galway, Ireland, she lived here 80 years. She was a member of Blessed 
Sacrament Catholic Church and its Blessed Virgin Sodality and Altar Guild.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Mary Agnes Small and Mrs. Eleanor Hunt of 
Norfolk, Mrs. Eileen Barry of Dallas, Tex., and Mrs. Virginia Shafer of Pensacola, 
Fla.; a son, Joseph Martin Shannon of Norfolk; and four grandchildren.

The Rosary will be recited in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments tonight at 7:30.

A funeral service will be held in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Chapel Friday at 9:30 
a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
