Funeral services were scheduled for Friday for Nathan Shannon, 56, of 429 Brewer 
street at Baker Funeral Home. The Rev. R. T. Adams will officiate and burial 
will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Mr. Shannon died last Monday in a local hospital after an illness. An employee 
of Fairfax Hotel for the past 30 years, he was a native of Elizabeth City, NC, 
and a member of White Grove Baptist Church there.

Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Ruth Shannon; a daughter, Miss Helen Shannon; a 
stepdaughter, Mrs. Carrie Minken; a half-sister, Mrs. Elnora Grandy; and a half-
brother, Bud Shannon.
