The Virginian Pilot and Norfolk Landmark Friday March 2, 1934
Edgar Nash Shannon, aged 75 years, husband of Sue Overman Shannon, and son of 
the late William and Margaret Nash Shannon, a native of Elizabeth City, N.C., 
and for the past 30 years a resident of Norfolk, died yesterday afternoon at 
12:30 o’clock at a local hospital. Mr. Shannon resided at the Colonial House, 
Bank and Freemason Streets. Besides his wife, he is survived by one sister, 
Mrs. Arthur Tennis, of Norfolk. Services will be held at H.D. Oliver’s Funeral 
Apartments, 610-612 East Freemason Street, tomorrow at 12 o’clock noon, with 
Chaplain William E. Callender, U.S.P.H.S. officiating. Interment will be in 
Elmwood Cemetery
