Norfolk Ledger Dispatch September 4, 1907 
                          

One of the saddest deaths that have occurred in this city for some time was 
that of the late Thomas W. Sharp at his home in Riverview. He was a man of wide 
acquaintance, a consistent member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, a devoted 
husband and father and a friend to all, especially to those in need. The 
deceased was a man of ability and had been for thirty years connected with the 
Southern Railway at Pinner’s Point and West Point., where he had a large number 
of friends. He was a member of Ruth Lodge, A. F. and A. M., this city. A great 
number of beautiful floral designs attested to the high esteem in which the 
deceased was held. A widow and son and daughter, both grown, survive to mourn 
his loss.
