The Virginian Pilot June 27, 1964
NORFOLK - Mrs. Willie A. Sharpley, 71, wife of Robert C. Sharpley, died in her 
home, 1624 Ashland Ave., Friday at 5 a.m.
Mrs. Sharpley was a native of Augusta, Ga. and lived in Norfolk 12 years.
Besides her husband, she is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Norma Anderson, 
Mrs. Mary A. Arnold and Mrs. Katherine Battles of Meridian, Miss. and Mrs. Lula 
Jo Griffin of Gadsden Ala.; two sons, W.R. Cardon of Raleigh, N.C. and Joseph 
N. Cardon of Augusta, Ga.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Lucille Corocoran of Norfolk; 
two sisters, Mrs. Cecil Hovey of Houston, Tex. and Mrs. V.G. Hinote of 
Beaumont, Tex.; and two brothers, Eugene W. Smith and Robert E. Smith of 
Houston, Tex., and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home Sunday at 4 
p.m.  Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
