Thelma Griffith Shaver, 80, of the 1900 block of Merganser Court, died April 18, 
1993, in her residence.

Mrs. Shaver was born in Norfolk. She had retired as a fishery owner in Tunis, N.C.

Survivors include one son, John Shaver, of Ahoskie; six grandchildren; four great-
grandchildren; three nieces, Frances G. Wood, of Chesapeake, Mildred A. Griffith, 
of Jacksonville, Fla., and Theresa P. Shaar, of Simpsonville, S.C.; and a loving 
companion, Robert G. Rodger, of Chesapeake.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mary's Cemetery, 
Norfolk, by Father Luke Policicchio. The family will receive friends this evening 
from 7 to 9 p.m. in Kellum Funeral Home, Bonney Road Chapel, where a Christian 
wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

The family asks that donations be made to the American Lung Association.
