NORFOLK - Vera Fitzpatrick Shaw, 82, of the 9300 block of Cape View Ave., died 
peacefully in her residence Oct. 8, 2010. She was a native and lifelong resident 
of Norfolk and was preceded in death by her parents, Farrell and Lillian Taylor 
Fitzpatrick; and her husband, Frank B. Shaw; and her sisters, Marion, Mildred, 
Lillian, Margaret, Doris and Helen.

Vera was a graduate of Holy Trinity High School, Class of 1946 and was a member of 
Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Carol S. Krause of Chesapeake, Cecelia S. 
Rochevot and her husband George of Chesapeake and Maureen S. Fleetwood and her 
husband Charlie of Norfolk; her son, Timothy F. Shaw and his wife Gayle of 
Alexandria, Va.; and her sister, Barbara F. Coli of Culpeper, Va.; four 
grandchildren, Elizabeth, Dana, Amy and Tyler; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Tuesday, Oct. 
12, at 11 a.m. The Christian wake will be in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Monday, 
Oct. 11, at 7 p.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. The Reverend 
John Dorgan will officiate.
