Virginian Pilot August 20, 1971

Henry Augustus Shea, 74, of 500 Botetourt St., the husband of the late Mr. Mary 
B. Shea and a son of Jesse V. and Mrs. Sarah C. Shea, died in a hospital 
Thursday.
A native of Portsmouth, he had lived here since 1944. He served in the Navy 
during World War I and was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Katherine S. McLauchlin of Anchorage, Alaska 
and Mrs. Frances S. Williams of Virginia Beach; three stepsons, Lewis T. Bryant 
and Robert L. Bryant of Norfolk and William A. Bryant of Milwaukee, Wis.; and 
three step daughters, Mrs. Virginia B. Watson of Norfolk, Mrs. Anne E. Dichard 
of Chesapeake and Mrs. Mary P. Rogers of Roanoke.
The body was taken to H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments.
The family will be at 3214 Blackwood Ave.

SHEA, HENRY AUGUSTUS — In a Norfolk hospital, Thursday, HENRY AUGUSTUS SHEA, 
widower of Mrs. Mary B. Shea and son of the late Jesse V. and Mrs. Sarah C. 
Shea, in the 75th year of his age. The body will be taken from H. D. Oliver 
Funeral Apts., Norfolk, to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Newport & Painter 
Street, for a requiem mass to be celebrated Saturday at 10 o'clock. Burial, St. 
Mary's Cemetery. The family will be at 3214 Blackwood Avenue, Norfolk.
