Virginian Pilot April 5 1911


John L. Shepherd, who suffered a stroke of paralysis, eight weeks ago, died 
yesterday afternoon at two o’clock, at the residence of his son-in-law, J.J. 
Woodhouse, in his fifty first year.

Mr. Shepherd has been sick for several years and is survived by two sons G.V. 
and J. R. Shepherd and one daughter, Mrs. J.J. Woodhouse.

The funeral will take place at the Woodhouse residence, Thursday afternoon at 
three o’clock. Rev. J.J. Bradford, pastor of the Queen Street Church 
officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood.
