Shettle, 40, of 1322 Bainbridge Boulevard, South Norfolk, died yesterday at 9:48 a.m. in a Norfolk hospital. Mr. Shettle, a shipping clerk at the E.H. Barnes Company, had been in declining health three years. A native of Baltimore, he had resided in this section 35 years. His late parents were Herbert J. ad Mrs. Mary Nolan Shettle. He was a member of the South Norfolk Congregational Christian Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Beatrice Parker Shettle; two sons, Vernon J. Shettle, Jr., and Kenneth W. Shettle, and one sister, Mrs. Ethel Peebles, all of South Norfolk. The body was removed to the Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk, where funeral services will be conducted tomorrow at 4 p.m. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park.
