Norfolk Virginian Pilot Wednesday July 16, 1952
George Shields died yesterday at 3:45 p.m. in the Public Health Service 
Hospital after a long illness. He was the son of the late Jacob and Charlotte 
Shields and a life resident of Norfolk.
He was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church and of the American 
Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ruth Lassiter Shields; two brothers, Wily and 
Jake Shields and one sister, Mattie Shields.
