Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Tuesday, August 29, 2000 
Michael ``Mike'' Todd Shields, 33, of the 5200 block of Richard Road, passed
away Aug. 25, 2000, in George Washington University Hospital, Washington, D.C.

Born in Norfolk, Mr. Shields was a graduate of Lake Taylor High School and
attended Virginia State College in Petersburg, Va.

He is survived by his mother, Barbara G. Shields of Virginia Beach; his father
and stepmother, John and Carolyn Shields of Camp Springs, Md.; four sisters,
Angela Rochester and Sharon Shields, both of Virginia Beach, Lorraine Wilson of
Newport News and Cindy Whitaker of Camp Springs; two brothers, Steven and
Shelton Shields of Virginia Beach; paternal grandmother, Ethel Shields; maternal
grandfather, Jesse Edwards, both of Norfolk; and a host of aunts, uncles,
nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be held at noon Thursday at Good News Family Worship Center, 925
N. Military Highway, Norfolk, with Pastor Levi Willis II officiating. Interment
will be in Calvary Cemetery , Norfolk. Family will receive friends and relatives
for remembrance and visitation Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at P.G. Thomasson
Funeral Services Inc., Bonney Road Chapel. The family will assemble at 11 a.m.
at the residence, 5211 Richard Road, Virginia Beach, for the procession to the
church.
