VIRGINIA BEACH - Lucy B. Shields of the 300 block of Gambrill Court entered into 
eternal rest Dec. 15, 2005. She was born Aug. 16, 1929, in Creswell, N.C., to 
the late Weldon Blount and Annie Lowe Blount. She leaves a wealth of family and 
friends to celebrate her life and her homegoing. She resided in Roberts Village 
for many years, and in 2003 moved to Franklin Arms Senior Midrise. 

She is survived by three daughters, Jacqueline S. Green of Norfolk, Lillian S. 
Conyers (Hagans) and Yvonne S. Brackett (Steven), both of Virginia Beach; two 
sons, Dana Shields (Pearline) of Florida and James Shields of Norfolk; 15 
grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild with another 
on the way. She also leaves to cherish her memory a host of nieces, nephews, two 
sisters, Inez Harris and Mary Davenport; two sisters-in-law, Madie Blount and 
Lillian F. Shields; two brothers, Harold Blount and John Blount. She was 
predeceased by her husband, James A. Shields Sr.; and a brother, Henry Blount. 

A funeral will be at 1 p.m. today in Solid Rock Church on Kenton Avenue in 
Norfolk by Elder Colson. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Graves Funeral 
Home is in charge.
