Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Sunday, January 5, 1997 
Vincent Warren Shields Sr., of the 2700 block of Omohundro Ave., died Jan. 2,
1997, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

A retired employee of Sheller Globe Mitchell Smith, Mr. Shields was a Norfolk
native and a member of United House of Prayer for All People No. 1. He was also
a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Serena Shields; daughter, Clara Ferebee of Norfolk;
son, Theodore of Norfolk; sister, Alma Davis of Long Island City, N.Y.; 13
grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Tuesday in Carlos A. Howard Funeral Home,
Norfolk Chapel, by Apostle William R. Scott. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery
. The remains will be ready for viewing at 3 p.m. Monday. The family will
assemble at the residence at 11 a.m. for the processional.
