Norfolk Virginian July 19, 1892

Mr. Walter T. Shipley died at the residence of his father, 301 Church Street, 
yesterday morning at 10:30 o'clock, in the 25th year of his age.  The funeral 
will take place this afternoon at 5 o'clock from the residence.

The funeral of Walter T. Shipley, Jr., a well-known and popular young man, took 
place from the residence of his father, No. 301 Church Street, yesterday 
morning, Rev. Beverly D. Tucker, of St. Paul's P.E. Church, officiating.  The 
remains were followed to Elmwood cemetery by a large number of his former 
friends and associates, the pallbearers being as follows:  M.J. Madden, H.L. 
Messick, Adolphus Price, Oswald Burns, William Webb and Jerry Perry.
