Shipp, a well-known and esteemed young man of South Norfolk, died yesterday morning at 3 o'clock at the residence of his sister, Mrs. William E. Eley, in Jackson street, after an illness from typhoid-pneumonia since last Sunday. The deceased was a native of Princess Anne county, but had resided in Berkley and South Norfolk the past fifteen years and was a son of William K. and Mrs. Mary Shipp. He was 27 years old and is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Eley and Mrs. H. H. Rountree, both of South Norfolk. He was a member of Ionic Royal Arch Chapter 64 of Berkley; Ruth Lodge 322 A.F. and A.M., of Norfolk, and Berkley Lodge 278 B.P.O. Elks, also of Berkley. Mr. Shipp was the bookkeeper of the first of C.W. Fentress and Company, dealers in butter, eggs, etc., this city, and has held that position for a number of years. He was the secretary of Ionic Royal Arch Chapter, in which capacity he has acted for several terms. The funeral will take place from the residence of his sister, Mrs. Eley, corner of Jackson and Gurrier avenues, South Norfolk, this afternoon at 4 o'clock and will be conducted by the Rev. R.B. Scott, pastor of Liberty Street M.E. Church. Members of the fraternal organizations, of which he was a member heretofore referred to, will attend the funeral in a body. The interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
