A native of Back Bay, Virginia Beach, he was a lifelong resident of the Tidewater area. He was a member of Park Place Methodist Church. He retired in 1933 as a partner with his brother, O.L. Shipp, in the operation of Shipp Brothers Meat Packing Co. He was in the meat packing business 18 years. Besides his widow, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Jo Ann Shipp Buschman of Orlando, Fla.; four nieces and three nephews. A funeral service will be conducted in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home today at 2 p.m. by the Rev. George W. Harrison of Park Place Methodist Church. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
