He was the son of the late William A. and Ella Malbon Shipp. Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Lillie V. Shipp; a daughter, Mrs. Michael R. Vanture, of Virginia Beach; a son, Lemuel P. Shipp, of Norfolk; two brothers, Henry H. Shipp, of St. Louis, Mo. and L.O. Shipp, of Philadelphia; a sister, Mrs. J. Clarence Davis, of Norfolk and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted in the James V. Derry Funeral Chapel tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock by the Rev. F.H. Strieby, pastor of McKendree Methodist Church. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
