Virginian Pilot February 7,1957

Miss Lucile E. Shipp died yesterday morning in a Norfolk hospital after a long 
illness. The daughter of the late John S. and Mrs. Josephine Whitehurst Shipp, 
she was a lifelong resident of Norfolk, a graduate of the old Leache-Wood 
Seminary and a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
She is survived by three nieces and a nephew, Mrs. Dale D. Hinman, Mrs. M.L.T. 
Davis, Miss Josephine Johnson and William R Hemingway of Norfolk and several 
great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Dr. Moultrie Guerry tomorrow at 
noon at the home of Mrs. Davis, 1104 Westover Ave., and burial will be in the 
family lot in Elmwood Cemetery. The family has asked that flowers be omitted.
