Norfolk Ledger Dispatch November 22, 1910

SHOEMAKER-At his late residence, 301 State Street (Berkley Ward), Norfolk, Va., 
Monday night, November 21, 1910, at 10 o'clock, AUGUSTUS SHOEMAKER, aged 52 
years.

Funeral from the above residence THIS (Tuesday) AFTERNOON, November 22, at 3:30 
o'clock. Interment in Magnolia Cemetery.

The funeral of the late Augustus Shoemaker, who died at his home Monday evening 
at 301 State street, was conducted from his late residence yesterday afternoon 
at 3:30 o'clock. The deceased had been in the employment of the street 
department for several years but had not been able to work for some time on 
account of ill health. He was on the street Monday evening about 6 o'clock, but 
on returning to his home he was taken suddenly ill and expired shortly 
afterwards.

Mr. Shoemaker was a native of Germany but had been a resident of this ward for 
more than twenty years. He was 52 years of age, and leaves a widow, Mrs. Nora 
Shoemaker.

Rev. E. W. Cowling, rector of St. Thomas' P. E. Church, officiated. The 
interment was in Magnolia Cemetery.
