Shorter, found dead in her home, 308 State Street, took place in the funeral apartments of J.R. Williams, 208 Chestnut Street, yesterday afternoon and was conducted by Rev. L.F. Johnson, D.D., pastor of the Christian Church. Several appropriate selections sung by Even Williams were reproduced on a large victrola. A delegation of the Salvation Army of Portsmouth was in attendance and assisted in the services. Burial was in Magnolia Cemetery.
