Shumadine, wife of J.H. Shumadine, at the family residence, on Colley Avenue, at 7:40 o'clock Sunday morning, has created a painful void, not only in her immediate family, but throughout the community in which she was so well known and universally beloved. She had been ill for only a few days and although her sickness was of a serious nature her condition at a late hour Saturday night was reported to be hopeful. But Sunday morning her condition became alarming and although the best physicians were summoned to her bedside and rendered her all possible human help, the swift winged messenger death claimed her for his own at the hour named. The deceased was a lady of rare Christian virtues and her death will be a serious loss to LeKies Memorial Methodist Church, where her Christian graces and pure and exalted life were shown in her self-sacrificing labors for the good of others. Her untimely departure from among the living is a sore bereavement to her devoted husband and family, in the circle of which her Christian virtues were most conspicuous. the funeral will be held from LeKies Memorial M.E. Church at 2 o'clock this afternoon.
