Virginian Pilot November 13, 1901

SHUMADINE - At the St. Vincent's Hospital, Tuesday, November 12th, 1901, at 
9 a.m., LUCY LOUISE, beloved wife of Henry D. Shumadine, aged 34 years.
The funeral will take place THURSDAY AFTERNOON at 3 o'clock from the 
residence of her father, James E Luton, No. 561 Granby Street.  Friends and 
acquaintances respectfully invited to attend.

All the way her Savior led her,
Cherished each enduring path she trod; 
Gave her grace for all her trials, 
And fed her with the living bread.

Perfect rest to her is given
In her Father's House above;
This her song through dying hours, 
"Jesus doeth all things well."

Mrs. Lucy L. Shumadine, wife of Mr. Henry Shumadine, and daughter of James 
H. and the late Sarah F. Luton, died at St Vincent's Hospital at 9 o'clock 
Tuesday morning, aged 34 years.  She is survived by a husband and two 
children, a father, brother and three sisters.  The funeral will take place 
from the residence of her father, No. 561 Granby Street, Thursday afternoon 
at 3 o'clock.

The funeral of Mrs. Lucy Louise Shumadine, who died at St. Vincent's 
Hospital Tuesday, November 12, took place yesterday from the residence of 
her father, No. 561 Granby Street, at 3 o'clock.  The services were 
conducted by the Rev. Mr. Lambeth, pastor LeKies Memorial M.E. Church.  The 
interment was in Elmwood Cemetery, the following gentlemen acting as 
pallbearers:  W.L. Brown, Robert Gray, Edward M. Jordan, W.E. Dear, W.T. 
Ballentine, George A. Graham.
