The Funeral of Mrs. Mabel Taft Thayer Shumadine, wife of Capt. W. F. Shumadine, 
occurs at 3 p.m. today from her late residence, at Tanner’s Creek, Rev. S.W. 
Melton. Of Freemason Baptist Church; Rev. J.W. S. Robins, of Zion Methodist 
Church, Lambert’s Point, and Rev. R.J. Bateman, of Park Place Baptist Church, 
are officiating. Interment in Elmwood.

The funeral services of Mrs. Mabel Taft Shumadine, who died on Thursday, were 
held this afternoon at three o’clock at her late home on Tanner’s Creek. 
Services were in the charge of Rev. Dr. Melton, pastor of the Freemason Street 
Baptist Church, who was assisted by the Rev. R.J. Bateman and the Rev. Mr. 
Robins.
Miss Eva Campbell sang “Asleep in Jesus”, and other hymns were read by the 
ministers.
A great many and very beautiful flowers were sent by friends here and out of 
town.
The pall bearers were: Messsrs. Luke Whitehurst, Gus Penzold, Edward Holland, 
Ira T. Holt, Allan Weir, F.E. Moore, F.T. Wise and Henry Robinson.
