A native of Perham, Minnesota, he was a 20 year Navy veteran who served in World War II and the Korean War. A longtime credit union advocate and leader in the credit union movement, he retired as President and Chief Executive Officer of Naval Air Federal Credit Union, now Chartway Federal Credit Union. He was an active member of St. Matthews Catholic Church and many of its organizations. He is survived by his wife, Anne O’Connor Siebels; and children, Christy Highfill and husband Keith, Geri Jones, JoAnne Siebels-Breen and husband Anthony, Tom Siebels and wife Jeanette, Richard Siebels and wife Theresa; his sisters, Mrs. Agnes Schwanz and Mrs. Pauline Morganroth; fourteen grandchildren, Adam, Matt, Aaron, Lee, Alison, Amy, Eric, Connor, Kyle, Caleb, Mary Kate “Eugenia”, Clark, Aubrey, Will; and four great-grandchildren, Ezekiel, Aidan, Brady, Katy B.; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Christian Wake will be held Monday, July 31, 2006, at 7 p.m., St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 3314 Sandra Lane, Virginia Beach, VA 23464. Family will receive visitors from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday at the church. The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Tuesday, August 1, 2006, at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew’s. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Norfolk, VA. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel is in charge.
