Robert Earl Simila, 62, of the 4000 block of Salem Terrace and formerly of 
Warrington, Pa., died July 2, 2002. He was born in Philadelphia, Pa. Mr. Simila 
was a foreman with Eastern Prestressed Concrete. He also served in the U.S. Coast 
Guard.

He devoted 30 years of his life to coaching children at the Warrington, Pa., 
Athletic Association.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 40 years, Frances Simila; 
children, Robert Simila Jr. and wife Christine, Nancy Simila and David Simila and 
wife Barbara; siblings, John Jr., James, Edward, Florence Matz and Mary Ragen; 
eight grandchildren, Megan, Nicole, Lauren, Anthony, John, Joseph, Sofia and 
Nicholas.

The family will receive friends at the church from 9:30 to 11 a.m. prior to the 
service Saturday. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. by 
Father Jim Parke at the Church of the Ascension. Burial will follow in St. Mary's 
Catholic Cemetery. Altmeyer Funeral Home, Virginia Beach chapel, is handling 
arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to any children's charity 
of one's choice.
