Virginian Pilot January 2, 1908

SIMMONS - At his residence, 211 Claiborne Avenue, Wednesday, January 1, 1908, at 
8:45 a.m., JAMES SIMMONS, in the 46th year of his age.
The funeral will take place from the above residence FRIDAY, January 3d, at 3 
p.m. Friends and acquaintances respectfully invited to attend.

James Simmons passed away at his home, 211 Claiborne Avenue, Brambleton, at 8:45 
o'clock a.m. yesterday after a lingering illness in the 46th year of his age. He 
leaves a widow and an only daughter. The deceased was a member of the Red Men 
and the Jr. O.U.A. Mechanics. The funeral will be solemnized at 3 o'clock Friday 
afternoon and will be conducted by Rev. W.G. Starr, D.D., of the Cumberland 
Street Methodist Church.
