Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark December 20, 1922

James Gaskins Simmons, well known citizen of Norfolk, died at 7:50 o'clock last 
night at the residence, 717 Raleigh Avenue. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary 
Sammons Simmons, and three daughters, Mrs. Charles Corwin Ross, Mrs. E.J.R. Wigg, 
Jr. and Miss Margaret Simmons. Funeral services will take place at noon tomorrow 
at the residence, Rev. J.W. Moore, of Epworth Methodist Church, officiating. 
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
