Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark July 2, 1923

Mrs. Georgie V. Simmons, aged 71, widow of W.A. Simmons, died yesterday morning 
at 3:40 o'clock, at the residence, 208 Church Street.  She was a native of 
Norfolk and is survived by one sister, Miss Betty R. Godfrey; two grandchildren, 
Mrs. G.J. Gulbransom and Willie M. Simmons; and one great grandchild. Funeral 
services will be held at the residence tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, the 
Rev. E.L. Bain, pastor of Cumberland Street Methodist Church, of which she was a 
member officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
